CXO Bi-Weekly Brief: Enterprise Software Selection Intelligence – Sep ‘26, Ep 7

Group

Sep 9th, 2026 | 1 PM ET

Enterprise software is changing fast. Not surprisingly, AI is driving much of that change. In this episode, we analyze the latest ERP, AI, and enterprise software announcements. First, Rockwell Automation is integrating Plex QMS with FactoryTalk Analytics VisionAI. As a result, AI-driven quality management could become more connected. Meanwhile, Rootstock Software is expanding AI in its Summer ’26 ERP release. Similarly, ECI Software Solutions is connecting EvolutionX eCommerce with GlobalEdge ERP. In addition, Sage is strengthening Sage Intacct Construction through its acquisition of Bangert.

However, AI is also moving beyond individual software features. Instead, it is becoming part of the broader enterprise technology stack. For example, Decile has launched an eCommerce analytics and activation MCP for AI workflows. At the same time, Progress Software is expanding AI-powered development with Telerik and Kendo UI. Similarly, Tricentis is adding new AI capabilities for enterprise software testing. Moreover, Pegasystems is advancing responsible AI for customer engagement. Salesforce is also expanding Headless 360 across its platform. Meanwhile, Agiloft is bringing enterprise contract lifecycle management closer to Salesforce workflows.

Finally, enterprise software vendors are targeting more business decisions. For example, Xactly and ServiceNow are partnering around revenue management. Meanwhile, Tropic is adding intelligence for technology spend planning and procurement. Similarly, Epoch is targeting event-driven pipeline and revenue measurement. In addition, Avetta is expanding its supplier and contractor risk management capabilities. Together, these moves signal a larger enterprise software trend. Increasingly, AI is shifting from standalone features to embedded intelligence. At the same time, applications are becoming more connected. Platforms are becoming agent-ready. Consequently, buyers are demanding measurable business outcomes. This CXO briefing explores what these enterprise software trends mean for ERP, AI, procurement, revenue operations, and digital transformation strategies.
